ARTS = SMARTS
Little Black Pearl offers a distinguished after-school program that blends technology, visual and music arts education with practical insights into the "Business of Art" for youths aged 13-19.
Arts=Smarts provides a unique opportunity for students to delve into the synergy between art and business, facilitated through hands-on experiences in our Music and Multimedia studios. Beyond artistic exploration, LBP proudly partners with the Food Depository, providing warm and nutritious meals to students for the past four years. The program aims to expand students' horizons, leveraging collaborations with local community partners and cultural institutions to enrich their educational experience. Furthermore, LBP's after-school offerings include internships in various practical fields. These internships are designed not just as learning opportunities but as potential pathways to employment. Students will acquire skills in screen printing, customer service, and hospitality, including specialized training for aspiring baristas.
For students under the care of Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Department of Family Support Services (DFSS), scholarship opportunities are available, and most CPS students are eligible for waived enrollment fees, ensuring accessible and inclusive education for all.
